(meterologist steve paulson tracking the development of the storm. it is arriving only 160 miles from wilmington. the outer bands are making their push. we have been tracking it for a week and a has arrived. a category 2 a very close category 3. do not let that fill you. it is still dangerous with a storm surge and slow-moving nature of the system will probably produce tremendous rainfall amounts. some of the outer bands picking up 40 or 50 mile-per-hour gusts coming out of the north northeast at 35 to about 40 miles per hour. i have seen gusts of 51. storm surge and flooding with rainfall will be the main issues even inland coming up with some of the rivers as well. you can get rainfall exceeding 25 or 30 inches. wilmington is still on the
