AN ABERDOUR man is to go on trial accused of a sex offence against a young girl at a school in the 1980s. The alleged incident is said to have occurred on an occasion between January 25, 1987, and January 24, 1988, at Starley Hall School, Aberdour Road, Burntisland. It is alleged that Robert Jennings, 66, of Main Street, Aberdour, used lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards a girl then aged 10 by placing his hand under her skirt, touching her on the leg and her private parts over her clothing. Sheriff Keith O’Mahoney set a trial date for October 18 at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court. ....

Sign Up ‘F ing idiot’ A Fife man, whose home was used as a safe house for a £12k stash of heroin, has been jailed. James Ray, 43, of Denvale Gardens, Kennoway, told officers executing a search warrant, “I’m not taking the rap for that f ing idiot” after claiming a man was supposed to collect the drugs from his home the day before. At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, he admitted that on May 27 he was concerned in the supply of diamorphine. ....
POLICE found stolen property when they searched a man’s room at the James Bank Hostel in Dunfermline. As a result, Richard Martin, 45, now of Ramsey Place, Rosyth, appeared in the dock at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court. He admitted that on October 30, 2019, at James Bank Hostel, Dunfermline, he re-set a Nintendo Wii and three controllers. Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “He had a very limited involvement in it. Another man came to his room at the hostel in the early hours of the morning and left a bag there. “Later, police searched his room and found the stolen items. He accepts he knew the items would have been stolen but he played no part in the theft.” ....
