"It was very promising,": Cougars Head Coach reflects on hub season

SHARE ON: Cougars Head Coach and GM Mark Lamb (Photo supplied by Brendan Pawliw, MyPGNow.com staff) The Prince George Cougars already have their eyes on next season following the conclusion of the BC Division Hub. The Cats finished with a record of 9-10-2-1, good enough for 4th place in the BC Division. Right now, the Cougars have seven 19-year-olds and can only keep three of them heading into the fall. In addition, the Cougars will also need to solve their sudden log jam in goal, which includes Gauthier, Tyler Brennan, and Ty Young. Lamb hinted the organization is finally in a good enough position where they can make these tough decisions.

Raiders win wild season finale against Broncos in overtime - Prince Albert Daily Herald

Prince Albert Daily Herald Moe, Nachbaur and Paddock wrap up WHL careers The strangest season in Prince Albert Raiders history concluded on Wednesday night with one of the most bizarre contests the team has ever taken part in. With the team holding a 5-3 lead over the Swift Current Broncos at the 8:01 mark of the third period, Raiders netminder Max Paddock was given a snow shower by Broncos forward Josh Davies and proceeded to pummel him in the face as both players were down in the crease during a post-whistle scrum. As a result of the play, Davies was given a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, but Paddock was given a five-minute match penalty and a game misconduct for what the officials deemed as an attempt to injure.

Dowhaniuk’s dominant effort leads Cougars to victory against Kamloops SHARE ON: (Photo credit Allen Douglas) Keaton Dowhaniuk is only 15 games into his Western Hockey League career for the Prince George Cougars but already has the look of a star blueliner. The 16-year-old was oozing with confidence on Wednesday during a 5-1 win over the Kamloops Blazers at Sandman Centre collecting a goal and three assists. “Pucks were bouncing my way all game, that helps and I was feeling good and fresh out there. I have definitely felt comfortable since the first game, I know that is a big part of my game and I have kind of been feeling it all year.”
