Kenneth Clarke, new executive director of Rescue Village, sees the animal shelter in Russell Township as doing âincredible work for the community and animals and their people.â
Mr. Clarke said he wants to continue the wonderful programs at Rescue Village that strive to save and care for animals.
The board of trustees hired Mr. Clarke, 51, as director in March, but he already was deeply involved in the work of the Geauga County Humane Societyâs shelter on Chillicothe Road. Rescue Village provides adoption programs for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and farm animals.
He is open to new adventures at the shelter. âThere are wonderful programs here, including the trap, neuter and return program which involves mostly cats,â Mr. Clarke said. Some 6,363 cats have been assisted in the program.
