Serving as the editor-in-chief of The Lariat has been the greatest privilege of my college career. I never could have imagined how bittersweet it would be to unpin my prints from the board, design my last staff meeting presentation and pass my final story on Camayak. But here I am, shedding a tear or two writing this letter.

While Dr. Jennifer Good will be leading a study abroad in Germany, Dr. Scott Moore will be enjoying the break at home with his family hopefully with visits from his six grandchildren.
People who say things like “this stuff happens” don’t fully understand what families of both parties go through after a tragedy like having a loved one killed in a shooting. We, as a country and society, need to improve our laws and background checks not only for future generations but also for victims of all the major and minor shootings that have happened.
The time is upon us when family and friends begin to become married couples rather than just fellow classmates. Being the single friend doesn't have to be discouraging, though. Some Baylor students say finding yourself is more important than finding a partner.
