Police from different agencies laced up their running shoes Wednesday to help raise money for Special Olympics Louisiana. 
The yearly Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics returned in-person in Thibodaux after being delayed a year due to the pandemic. Though last year’s event was held virtually, nothing captures the spirit like running alongside your fellow officers, Karla Loupe said. 
The Lafourche Parish sheriff’s deputy has been participating in the Torch Run for 14 years but decided to try something different this year.  
“It feels great,” Loupe said. “I usually ride a bike but since it’s a shorter distance this year because of COVID, I thought I would try to run it. It’s great to be back.”  ....
