His modus operandi was to break into the women’s shacks while they were sleeping and rape them at gunpoint. The accused, Michael Michael, made his first court appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning, and was positively identified by one of his victims. According to the deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, he was arrested after the police received a tip-off from the public.

According to the police, statistics show that there is a significant increase in property crimes during holiday periods. When people go on holiday, criminals use the opportunity to break into their empty homes.
