DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Two people have been arrested after a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff s Office (DCSO) was shot late Sunday night.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. on December 20, deputies observed a known fugitive in a car near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Gillman Avenue in Gardnerville. The fugitive, 22-year-old Nicolas Berreman, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Kaela Mae Horse-Berreman. DCSO deputies stopped the vehicle and as they attempted to arrest Berreman he allegedly shot Sgt. John Lenz three times. Two shots to the chest were stopped by his body armor and a third struck his left cheek. ....
