After the Oaks tied the score in the top of the fourth, Higgins helped the Foresters retake the lead as he scored on Dylan Leach’s single. The Foresters made it 3-0 when Carson Wells knocked in Leach.
Higgins drove in the eventual winning run, bringing home Tanner O Tremba on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
The Oaks pulled to 4-3 on a two-run homer off Steven Zobac in the ninth. But Zobac regrouped and closed out the game for his first save.
The Foresters (25-7, 17-7 in the CCL) take Monday off before heading into the final week of the regular season. They play road games at Arroyo Seco and OC Riptide and Tuesday and Wednesday, and return to Pershing Park for their final homestand on Thursday against the Oaks.
