SACRAMENTO, Calif. The woman who accused a Sacramento police officer of domestic violence fully recanted her claims, an attorney representing the officer said in a statement.
Justin Shepard, a three-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department, was accused of domestic violence. Police said the incident when he was off duty and that she did not require hospitalization.
Shepard s attorney released a statement saying that on Monday, May 10 the woman told police she was injured in a work-related accident that had nothing to do with Shepard.

Further she explained that her alleged injuries were sustained in a separate accident and work-related occurrences completely unrelated to Officer Shepard. We expect Officer Shepard to be exonerated once the investigation has been concluded, Joel M. Weinstein said in the statement.

Justin Shepard, a three-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail following an investigation into the incident.
Authorities say the victim had visible injuries but did not require hospitalization. Police say the alleged altercation happened when Shepard was off duty.
