Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani on Thursday said that it is time for the Delhi High Court to have a separate “Human Rights Division” to implement the new criminal laws and to redress grievances of human.
The bench said, “In the considered opinion of this court, the allegations against the appellant (Nisar) and the role attributed to him does not persuade this court to release the appellant on bail.”
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday expressed displeasure over lengthy arguments by the prosecution while opposing the bail plea of Khalid Saifi, an accused in the UAPA case alleging a larger conspiracy.
The judge had dismissed his plea alleging that respondents including the Delhi police, Mumbai police, Ratan Tata and Union of India had established various public organisations that criminally infringed on his ‘right to have access to one’s own criminal records’.
