Starting on Jan. 1, the New York State courts were deprived of the wisdom and service of 46 able Supreme Court justices who reached age 70. This ill-advised and shortsighted decision by the Administrative Board of the New York State Unified Court System will have a harmful impact on the public and the judiciary.
