Then, Florida prevailed in the eye of the storm.  The No. 6 Gators withstood the rain as they lined up at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand, Florida, to face the unranked Stetson Hatters.  Stetson challenged Florida in the draw circle and won 12 out of 27 draws. Although Stetson made its mark on the scoreboard, an hour flew by as Florida emerged victorious 19-7.

Florida Gators lacrosse cruises past Stetson on the road

Special report on the Florida Gators lacrosse team: DELAND, Fla. – The high-powered offensive attack of the sixth-ranked Florida lacrosse team led them past the Stetson Hatters 19-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Gators move to 3-1 on the year, while Stetson drops to 0-2. Florida had 11 different players score on Saturday afternoon, led by five goals from Shannon Kavanagh – a season-best mark. Ashley Gonzalez followed with a career-high three goals of her own, securing the first hat trick of her career. Maggi Hall and Paisley Eagan tallied two goals apiece on the afternoon, while Liz Harrison, Emily Heller, Danielle Pavinelli, Grace Haus, Shelton Sawers, Janine Suris and Kaitlyn Dabkowski each pitched in one goal. Harrison and Suris both registered their first career goals in the game.

Special report on the Florida Gators lacrosse team: KENNESAW, Ga. – The sixth-ranked Florida lacrosse team dominated Kennesaw State on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Owls 20-7. Florida improves to 2-1 on the year, while Kennesaw State drops to 0-2. The Gators had nine different players find the back of the net on Wednesday afternoon, led by a career-high four goals from Paisley Eagan. Maggi Hall, Danielle Pavinelli and Shannon Kavanagh each registered a hat trick in the game and the three-goal performance was a career-high for both Hall and Pavinelli. Brianna Harris (2), Grace Haus (2), Kassidy Bresnahan, Shelton Sawers and Jackie Norsworthy rounded out the scoring column for Florida. Norsworthy’s goal was the first of her collegiate career.
