Crash claims lives of two Olney women

OLNEY â An accident at 7:49 p.m. Saturday claimed the lives of DeAnn Richardson, 48, and Judy L. Jourdan, 69, both of Olney, reports Illinois State Police District 12.
According to the accident report, Michael W. Mattox, 60 of Dundas, was westbound on West North Avenue approaching South West Street driving a black 2020 Chevrolet Silverado when he proceeded through the intersection, ran off the roadway on the northwest corner and struck the outdoor patio portion of the Deuceâs Wild Saloon, striking Richardson and Jourdan where they were standing.
Richardson and Jourdan were pronounced dead at the scene by the Richland County Coronerâs Office. ....

A vehicle allegedly operated by Michael W. Mattox, 60-year-old male of Dundas, IL, while under the influence and without a valid drivers license, ran off the roadway and mowed two female customers down as they were standing on the patio of the Deuce s Wild Saloon in Olney, Illinois Saturday night.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Michael W. Mattox, 60, of Dundas, was traveling westbound on West North Avenue approaching South West Street in Olney, IL. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection and ran off roadway on the northwest corner where it struck the outdoor patio portion of the Deuceâs Wild Saloon, according to police. Two female pedestrians standing on the patio were struck by the vehicle and were pronounced deceased on scene by the Richland County Coronerâs Office. They are DeAnn C. OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) Olney Police Department, Richland County Sheriff s office and Illinois State Police responded to a single vehicle crash in Olney, IL Saturday that left two people dead.
Authorities said the driver, Matthew Mattox, 60, of Dundas, IL drove his car into Deuce’s Wild Bar, located on 433 S. West St.
Mattox was traveling westbound on West North Avenue proceeding toward South West Street before he crossed the intersection. While crossing the intersection, he veered off the roadway crashing into the bar s patio section.
Two Olney women, Judy L. Jourdan, 69, and Deann C. Richardson, 48, were standing on the patio and struck by Mattox s vehicle. ....
