الروائي جيمس أوجستين جويس ولد في العام (1882ـ ت 1941م) , في دبلن من أسرة إيرلندية برجوازية كاثوليكية. من مؤلفاته الروائية: ( صورة الفنان شابًا، 1914م. ) و(عوليس، 1922م) و ( صحوة فينيجن، 1939م) .
أما المؤلفات الأدبية الأخرى : ( ناس من دبلن، مجموعة قصصية، 1905م) و ( موسيقى الغرفة، مجموعة شعرية، 1907م) و (المنافي، مسرحية، 1914م) و(قصائد قلمية، مجموعة شعرية سيرة ذاتية، 1927م).
