and i went over instantly, because i am a fifth generation edward watters university graduate. and now as a professor, that is home. as a journalist to travel the world doing this journalism work, i come with a unique perspective. and, just to the stories that were there, and for us to be a part of it. we stood together in the middle of the street, holding a prayer vigil, holding hands. it s heaviness, and it s not even anger, as i hugged and as we prayed and talked. we ve got to do more than just send thoughts and prayers and talk and pray. we have got to find ways to create action, that is positive and sustainable. but it s just a heavy, sad mood, simone. and, even our students. i talked to a couple of my students through text messages this morning, who said they were a they weren t even sad or afraid to come all of their dorm rooms. and that s no way for students to. no way at all. your governor, ron desantis, addressed the shooting earlier today. i want you to take a listen. fl
they go to kharkiv, sumy, kyiv as well, and so what s particularly challenging with students who are foreigners who come here in addition to the unfortunate racism that they face at the at various border points, it s the fact that many of them did not come here and were not prepared for war. and so, being a refugee is quite expensive. the fact that several families have been able to assist, i was i actually spent my own money. i m very thankful to people who have been giving contributing to my journalism work, but i ve used a substantial amount of my money to assist these families going from where they were safely to the border, and so unfortunately, many families many foreign students don t have the access to, a, on-the-ground contacts that they can reach out to, to get from where they are en route to the border because you have to spend a day
get her nails done was involved in the money laundering aspect of this deal living in los angeles where there s a huge iranian ex-pat community. makes us think as to how many people they have in their network here in the united states working against american citizens who are doing journalism work or activism work or think tank work, that are targeting them. and i would say, you know, to the american people, look, i m not here because i am iranian. i m not here because i m an enemy of the iranian people. just the opposite. we re working for the iranian people and the people who are freedom loving and want a better future. this regime is not a regime to work with, this is not a regime to appease, and they should make an example of out of this woman to not evade the sanctions, and we have to have a much tougher stance against the iranian regime for a better middle east, for world peace to stop the terrorism and to, you know, american citizens are now involved. so i think we have to take
during the government shutdown, because this is an insight into how journalism work, especially print journalism. so mcintosh was this congressman but who now runs a great organization, but he was the source and somebody kept leaking really damaging information about me that was not true and i said, who is it? who is it? and then about five days later, there s this story on macintosh that said basically the headline, what makes david mcintosh so damn great. right? and i go, oh, my god. and i say this to say you can still work in the newspapers and i m not going to reveal anybody this week, but you can still look in the papers and still see glowing profiles of people in the white house and if you go
yeah. and i want to stay out there. that s what i do. that s why people watch it. but i don t really think i m beyond where the community is. what do you say about yourself when somebody says you re a member of the media and you say i m an entertainer i m a comedian. but you re a member of the media, and you re a comedian. do you have different rules than i have? yes, i do, chuck. i have to be funny. because i m a comedian. fair enough. and that is like a very, very big rule that bill o reilly and like a lot of other people do not have to follow. yes, do i think that gives you a little more license? i certainly do. because we re all just, you know, folks with an opinion at the end of the day. now, you re a little more of a reporter. you know, you do some real journalism work and i appreciate that and i take my cap off for that. and people who are like covering
