Curriculum in public schools. we do that all the time. this is not new. joshua, how do you respond to that? my response is that the governor is mistaken. there is a clear constitutional prohibition on discriminating against people on the basis of their lgbtqi identity. and that constitutional role applies everywhere. so the state cannot enact a censorship regime that s designed to deny to an entire generation that lgbtq people exist and are worthy of dignity. and they most certainly cannot enact a law that is so unbelievably vague in what it covers and that sends a message to every lgbtq student and same-sex married parent that they get at most a skim milk education. a second rate education compared to everybody else. zander, before we go i just want to if you could or if you want to, what do you hope that people who have supported this bill, who support this

Complicated, and it pushes in lots of directions. one reason that i wrote this book with my wonderful former research assistant joshua matts is to clear things up a little bit. like in today s case, the court was not elevating corporations above actual human beings. it was interpreting an act of congress where congress in the religious freedom restoration act itself said that corporations, along with people and along with unions, should be able to argue that something needlessly burdens their religion. employees could make exactly the same argument and have in many successful cases. and what the court said was that as long as the government can provide the contraception at public expense, there is no need to burden the religious beliefs of closely held corporations whose owners basically operate
