The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced on Thursday it brought in $25.8 million in the third quarter, bringing its 2021 fundraising haul to $105 million through September.
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) pulled in $5.3 million in the third quarter of the year, his campaign announced on Tuesday, bringing his year-to-date total to nearly $21.5 million.
“There are not many of us that are going to be able to go because they’re limiting it pretty dramatically,” Scalise said. “There are a lot of people that haven’t been before that want to go.”
Lawmakers can’t bring guests, although some have announced “virtual” guests instead to tout notable constituents in their districts.
Pelosi, who normally has a box of seats available to fill, announced Tuesday that Kenneth Tai, the chief health officer at a community health center in San Francisco, will be her virtual guest.
The footprint from other branches of government is also being scaled back dramatically, with most Cabinet and executive officials watching remotely.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the NRCC’s Democratic counterpart, has not yet released its first quarter fundraising figures, though it did raise a combined $18.5 million in January and February.
The DCCC had $25.9 million cash on hand and $11 million in debt at the end of February.

The haul comes as the GOP looks to the 2022 midterms as a prime chance to win back the House, which was lost in the 2018 blue wave.
Democrats hold one of the smallest majorities in modern history, and history is on Republicans’ side given that the party in the White House typically loses seats in the midterms.
