NEWARK, NJ – Candida Melendez passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was the wife of the late Jose A. Colon, Sr.
Candida was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. She was a God loving woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of family and friends. With open arms, she welcomed everyone into her home. She always provided a listening ear and wise advice, along with a hot meal and a steaming cup of espresso coffee. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities and was devoted to her children and her animals. Her personality was contagious to anyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
