Friends say she knows her way around the water and they dont know what to make of her disappearance. She is is kind of a free spirit, so she may have gone for a kayak ride late that evening by choice. Reporter Sausalito Police dont want to assume the worst. After a night out with a friend bar hopping a bit, ashley wells kayaked out to the boat her friend lives on, then took the kayak to get to the boat she stays on, a a few piers a a few piers away. From the location where she would have gone inlet maybe 200 to 300 yards. Reporter wells never made it and the kayak that looks like this one has not been found either. Conditions calm that night, but the tide was going out a strong current to fight. She did not have her cell phone with her and no inflatable device.
