Marcus Harness’s goal was enough to see Town to a 1-0 victory over his old club Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium, moving the Blues a point clear at the top of League One. Town didn’t have it all their own way against the Brewers, however, with the home side having come closest to scoring on a number of occasions before Harness’s low shot from the edge of the area on the hour mark secured the three points.
Lee Evans netted Town’s first goal of the season as the Blues and Bolton Wanderers drew 1-1 at Portman Road on the opening day. Aaron Morley gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, before Evans converted from a neatly-worked corner seven minutes before the break and the Blues looked much the more likely winners in the second half without being able to find a second goal.
Freddie Ladapo as the Blues drew 1-1 with Millwall at the Den. Benik Afobe gave the Lions the lead in the 16th minute but Town were much the better side in the second half and Ladapo scored the equaliser on 54 with the Blues having chances to win it in the latter stages.
With Jackson getting a new contract and the signing of John Jules and Ladapo, I think KM wants to play with 3 pacey forwards rather than one up top with 2 number tens. Thoughts anyone?
