The fate of a Pottstown man accused of fatally shooting an unarmed Chester County man with whom he had an angry exchange during a child custody transfer is in the hands of a jury. Kevin Maurice Morgan is accused of the June 27, 2023, slaying of Derek Mayo.
Kevin Morgan shot and killed Derek Mayo last June outside of his home in Pottstown. Morgan's attorney says he acted in self-defense and that Mayo had been threatening him for years.
