Good morning to our viewers here in the United States and around the world. It is monday june 28th. Im John Berman in surfside, florida. Along with Erica Hill in New York. The desperate search for survivors in the Condo Collapse has been going on 24 7. Nine people dead and 159 unaccounted for and 152 families clinging to hope even though No One has been found in the collapse five days ago. They dug a Deep Trench to help in the Search Effort and special equipment was brought in to help detect signs of life through the concrete. A grim assessment of what they have found so far. It is horrific. That is one word i will say and, again, one of the most difficult collapses to deal with and the operation of what were seeing is just a very difficult situation. The type of debris, unfortunately, that were coming across, this is assuming it is a tough to describe. You know, we dont have the things we were looking for. Thats what i mean by horrific. It is a very difficult, difficult situation. So,
Rescue saying they understand the frustration and it s not intentional for them to be pointed out and blamed for this, but these families are just really clinging to any sort of miracle. that a miracle will happen here in the coming days. but as the hours tick by, of course, as we ve been watching it all along here over the weekend since that building collapsed, these family members some of them are starting to lose hope. john. you know, nick, the officials i have spoken with, they know that the families are frustrated and angry and hurt and they also know that there are times when they may be the focus of the anger and frustration and they understand. they understand these families are just looking for answers and they understand at times that may be acted out upon them and they re going to keep working as hard as they can to look for survivors as long as they can. nick valencia, please give our records to the families there. for more information on how you
