Facebook which owns the company says the attack targeted a select number of people. Users are being urged to update their app, as our north America Technology reporter dave lee explains. Human rights organisations say this is the attack they always feared it was possible, a flaw that meant attackers could plant Surveillance Software without the target needing to do anything. Whatsapp has said it found a problem around ten days ago and, over the course of this month, has been notifying human Rights Groups, journalists and us Law Enforcement.
