Career Center picked to run pilot internship program | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer LISBON The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center has been named one of 12 schools in the state to act as a pilot site for a paid internship program for students. The program is through the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation and will create internships for students where some of the wages will be paid by the state of Ohio, with the goal of long-term employment once the internship ends. Students would be placed in internship roles that have similar demands to an entry-level technology based job. The internships will focus on software, data, cloud and IT infrastructure.
