The school board voted unanimously to shift high school bell times from 7:25 a.m. to 8 a.m., a 35-minute difference that officials hope will make a positive impact on students’ health.
The board’s operating budget request represents a $109.5 million (10.6%) increase over the current budget and includes more than 320 full-time equivalent new staff positions. Much of the budget’s growth is driven by implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future legislation.
