10-year-old boy was bleeding badly after bike-car crash, but responders’ special training saved him

Police Officers Matthew Roberts and Brian Ebersole and Northeast Fire & Rescue Chief Joshua Matter were honored Wednesday night for saving a 10-year-old s life after his bike hit a car April 9th in East Pennsboro Township.

Ten-year-old Gabriel Harris was riding his bike down a hill in front of the East Pennsboro Township Building last month when he entered an intersection and crashed into a northbound car that he didn’t see coming.
The sudden crash April 9 on South Enola Drive broke both of his arms and caused a severe injury to his right arm, with uncontrolled bleeding that could have killed him within minutes.
