STA. ROSA, Laguna - San Juan's early silencing of Laguna turned out to be enough as the latter made things interesting in the fourth quarter only to fall short and the former won on the road, 78-68, in their MPBL Saturday night game at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex here. Taking quick control of the game, the Knights raced to a lead as high as 27 points, 69-42, late in the third quarter. However, the Heroes responded with a 17-2 run spanning through the midway part of the fourth quarter that cut the lead down to 12, 71-59. Back-to-back baskets from Michael Calisaan seemed to have doused cold water on Laguna's endgame attack as San Juan's lead was stretched back to 16, 75-59, but the home team responded with five straight points to draw them to within just 11, 64-75, with 1:47 left. Judel Fuentes finally shut the door on the Heroes with the dagger three in the next play before the hosts scored the last four points of the game to keep the final margin respectable. ....
Country? absolutely. i think it s rather naive to believe that they are the jayvee and that we have nothing to worry about. because we live in a different era. you know, he talked about them not being a big industrial power. we re not in the era now where you send, you know, big armies to fight, or you know air forces. we re in a place where you use a jet plane as a missile to knock down buildings, where dirty bombs can be used to extinguish large numbers of people. there are lots of different techniques that can be used, cyber attacks, attacking our electrical grid. you know, these are things that are all well within their capabilities. and particularly when they use them in tandem. there s a lot of things that could happen in this country. and we need to be planning for those things. we cannot take a wait and see and react type of attitude. we got to be forward thinking very quickly to protect the american people. ....
Office, what policy changes to the current fight against isis might you make? well, first off, jake, i wouldn t leave fighting isis to russia. as some in this race have suggested. and quite frankly as the president appears to be doing. america s got to engage in the fight with isis with our allies. and so i would work on four things, jake. first, is making sure that we arm with the best armaments and most modern armaments our allies in jordan, egypt, saudi arabia and the emirates. two, make sure we train them all the way down to the battalion level to fight effectively with those weapons against isis. third, make sure we give them the best intelligence information we can to find where the isis leadership is and get it moving forward. and fourth, i would make sure we give them the air cover they needed to soften those targets before they went into move. we need to empower our allies to do it. they need to know america is all in. they don t know that now because this president s done n ....
Swing for the fences and not go to right field every time? can you say something big to this audience tonight that isn t just red meat for the hard right or do you have to go for the obvious target, minorities, the big democrats, hillary, obama? are they the only safe places to go for the fence? yeah, again, look at the first debate. i know we say it s the jayvee. nobody trying to differentiate themselves on the core republican issues. nobody trying to make a big statement that would, hey, somebody went against the party base here. take immigration for instance, boy, what a tough spot these candidates are in if they want to stand up to donald trump tonight, stage that dramatic moment they go after donald trump. the problem is when you strip away the bluster and bravado from trump s message what he s saying when you can discern the policy details of it, he is where the republican base is. that s why he surged to first place so you could say, donald, i don t agree with your tone. i don ....
Fall apart and now be in a proxy war with as you were just saying with these very dangerous folks on the ground who are trying to make bombs that could well get on airplanes this could happen anywhere. yemen is becoming another syria where the u.s. four years ago was forced to get out. somalia is for all practical purposes a failed state. libya is a failed state. the u.s. embassy has been shut down there. american diplomats have been forced to evacuate. bob baer, you worked at the cia. you remember a little bit more than a year ago the president was also claiming isis was the jayvee squad, saying you could give the jayvee squad a lakers jersey they are not going to be kobe bryant when all is said and done. was he getting bad intelligence then as well about isis? was this a total surprise or was this once again a blunder by his national security team? well let s be fair. it was a blunder by all of us. i don t recall anybody two years ago predicting that there ....
