Wyoming’s winter has been rather mild, but recently came in with snow and subzero temperatures, which can not only be dangerous to people, but to pets as well. Jayson Martin, Operations Manager at the St. Francis Animal Shelter in Buffalo, talked with Sheridan Media about the things pet owners should be aware of, and what to do and what not to do to keep their pets safe during the bitter cold. Martin said during cold snaps above zero, its still best to keep animals inside as much as possible, and even more so when temperatures plummet below zero. He said owners whose animals usually stay outside should really bring them in from the cold, at least during the extreme low temperatures. ....

(WTVM) - A house fire in Columbus Wednesday evening caused major damage, but luckily left no one injured thanks to the response of several sheriffâs deputies. Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman says that Deputy Christopher Bryant was in the area of 3rd Ave. and 38th St. Wednesday evening when he saw smoke in the neighborhood. Dep. Bryant took it upon himself to investigate and found a home in the 3800 block of 3rd Ave. that was on fire. ....
