Three water slides at a dublin water park where a boy narrowly escapes serious injury will be closed to the public but open to engineers and Safety Experts tomorrow who will try to figure out what went wrong. Good evening. Im eric thomas. The 10yearold boy went zooming off one of the slides yesterday. It was the first day of operation at the 31,000squarefoot water park in dublin. Abc 7 News Reporter Leslie Brinkley is live with new details at the wave. And leslie, the inspectors have lots of questions to answer. Thats right, eric. Tonight here at the wave, dublin city Officials Say they want to know what happened. Why did that 10yearold boy careen off a slide on the very first day this park was operating here. Cal osha inspected all six of these slides on friday and issued permits. The very next day, 90 minutes after the grand opening on saturday, this happened. Involved shooting in san jose this year all dealing with mentally ill suspect. The suspect today was armed with an ax. Police encountered that man just after 12 30. Thats where we find our anchor tonight to tell us the suspect had trouble past. Reporter police are not identifying the suspect, they did say he had a rap sheet that included violence, weapons, and drug charges. Where the shooting occurred the residence tells us they are not surprise given the building has had its share of problems. Downtown josi san jose on sunday. Mina russell heard at least 4 shots. I thought it was firecrackers, it was an active criminal investigation is what they told me. At the third floor apartments officers responded to a disturbance with one of the tenants. When they got there they noticed a fire. Officers observed flames, and smoke coming from underneath the front door.
