Oakland man indicted on charge of sexually assaulting child
A Kennebec County grand jury indicted dozens last week on numerous charges, including Jeramy D. Hinton on allegations of sexually assaulting a child younger than 12 years old.

AUGUSTA An Oakland man accused of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 12 years old multiple times over several years has been indicted by a Kennebec County grand jury on two counts each of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.

Jeramy D. Hinton, 48, allegedly sexually assaulted the same girl over a number of years, according to an affidavit filed by Brittany Johnson, an investigator with the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
