Investment in European quantum startups held fast in 2023 but elsewhere in the world funding dropped, says a new survey. Should we be optimistic about 2024?
IQM Quantum Computers, a leader in the development of quantum computers, OpenOcean, a European venture capital firm, and Lakestar, a technology investor, have released the OpenOcean–IQM–Lakestar State of Quantum 2024 Report, in association with The Quantum Insider (TQI).
A new report shows a 50 percent global drop in venture capital invested into quantum startups from $2.2 billion in 2022 to around $1.2 billion in 2023. The US saw an even bigger decline at 80 percent, while Europe, the Middle East and Africa grew by three percent.
