Neal was arrested on the same day and charged via a postal requisition on September 14. The attacker pleaded guilty to one count of Section 20 grievous bodily harm in a hearing at Reading Crown Court on April 13, 2021. Investigating officer PC Jake-Jon Crowdey, based at Bracknell police station, said: “This was a horrendous attack on a member of the public who was not known to the defendant. “The victim sustained life-changing injuries as a result of this incident and has permanent scarring on her head. “I am pleased to see that a custodial sentence has been given, as this attack left the victim both physically and mentally scarred.
