According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake struck at around 6:20 a.m. ET with a magnitude 6.4, as the initial tremor was trailed by a series of weakers aftershocks.
Sending shockwaves through Croatia on Tuesday, a powerful earthquake killed the lives of seven individuals. It caused massive damages to a town south of the country s capital, Zagreb, based on the reports coming from the country s officials and its residents.

At least seven people have been killed and over 20 injured after a powerful earthquake jolted central Croatia on December 29(Local time).
At least seven people have been killed and over 20 injured after a powerful earthquake jolted central Croatia on December 29(Local time). The 6.4 magnitude quake, which sabotaged country’s phone lines and power networks, concentrated around Petrinja, a town of around 20,000 some 50 kilometres (30 miles) south of Croatia s capital Zagreb. A search operation, that stretched overnight, is currently underway to rescue the survivors.
