With an op-ed in the new york times, where he encourages people to learn more about the tulsa race massacre and the truths of black history in this country. basically kind of an admonition for white people to learn black history, and to unlearn some of the geography that has sort of wall papered over the tougher parts of our history. i tend to feel optimistic about that because today s generation is so much more connected to information and so much more willing to search for information themselves, especially when you tell them they re not allowed to learn something like critical race theory, they ll be like, okay, what is it, why is it so bad, and i m kind of optimistic that will happen but what about you? that s why i love you, joshua. your optimism. i mean one of us has to be. so let me put it this way. i appreciate tom hanks saying what he said, and i agree with him, white folks need to learn black history but they need to stop trying to re-write it first.
