Welcome to bbc Newsroom Live. The number of patients on Hospital Wards has been at unsafe levels in nine out of ten nhs trusts in england this winter, according to figures obtained by the bbc. Some hospitals were operating at close to full capacity, putting increased pressure on the number of beds available. All week we are taking an in depth look at the state of the nhs in a series of special reports. Heres our Health Correspondent, jane dreaper. Its been a very difficult winter at Yeovil Hospital in somerset. Like many other hospitals in england, theyve had to battle Behind The Scenes here to find enough free beds in recent weeks. You can get periods, particularly over the winter period, when you are managing bed by bed, minute by minute, and teams are having to spend a lot of time and Energy Running around finding a bed for the next patient that needs it. And moving patients between beds isnt ideal, we dont like doing it unless we really have to, but sometimes you have to prioritise
