WTC overall champions of DDTF taekwon-do tourney

Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): Warriors Taekwon-do Club (WTC) bagged the overall champions’ trophy of the first inter-club taekwon-do tournament, organised by Dimapur District Taekwon-do Federation (DDTF) under the aegis of Nagaland Taekwon-do Federation (NTF), held on October on 24 and 25 at Lampstand Higher Secondary School, Toluvi village. WTC won 14 gold, four silver and three bronze medals while DMI, St. Joseph Global School, won the runner-up trophy with six gold, four silver and 16 bronze medals, DDTF informed in an update. The best discipline award went to Nagaland Police Central School. Peiyavi Kevichusa with three gold medals and one silver was awarded the player of the tournament in the male category, while Lanthula Yim of Rich Mount School bagged the player of the tournament in the female category after winning three gold and one bronze. He was officially inducted in the Taekwondo Hall of Fame at Hyatt Regency, 2 Exchange Palace, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA on August 19. It may be mentioned that he was inducted for his outstanding achievements by tagging him as “Pioneer Taekwon-do Instructor”. Nagaland s Israel G Xuivi to be inducted into the Taekwondo Hall of Fame

Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): Israel G Xuivi, a renowned international Taekwondo instructor and founder of the ‘Naga Kiti-Do’, will be inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame on August 19 at Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. A press release from the Nagaland Taekwon-do Federation (NTF) congratulated Xuivi and informed that he was also recently featured in the official website of International Taekwondo Hall of Fame, USA for his outstanding performance and achievements in Taekwon-do tagging him as an ‘outstanding ITF Taekwondo champion’ and recognising his contribution to the martial arts fraternity. Israel and his wife Nikatoli will leave for the States on August 17 and attend the function. It may be mentioned that the Hall of Fame is the highest honour one can achieve in the martial art/ Olympic sport of Taekwondo.
