COLLIN SPILINEK Fremont Tribune A 27-year-old Wahoo man was sentenced to four years in prison Monday for drug possession, tampering with evidence and fleeing while applying to drug court. Jacob D. Jones pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical intention in the Dodge County District Court on March 11. On Jan. 14, a Dodge County Sheriffâs Office deputy pulled a vehicle over for a broken taillight and turning the wrong way onto a one-way street. Jones, the driver of the vehicle, gave a false name to the deputy and failed to produce a driverâs license, as well as registration or insurance for the vehicle. ....
COLLIN SPILINEK Fremont Tribune A Fremont teen pleaded guilty on Monday to attempted delivery of methamphetamine in the Dodge County District Court. Alyssa M. Johnson, 19, previously pleaded not guilty, but withdrew the plea in court in order to apply to the Dodge County Adult Drug Court program as part of her plea deal. On March 11, 2020, an investigator with the Fremont Police Departmentâs III Corps Drug Task Force made contact with a confidential informant, who said they had arranged a drug buy with Johnson. âInvestigators with the task force met up with the confidential informant at a predetermined location here in Dodge County, Nebraska,â Deputy Dodge County Attorney Emily Beamis said. âThe confidential informant was searched, provided with documented currency and a wire.â ....
COLLIN SPILINEK Fremont Tribune A 40-year-old Fremont man was sentenced to 200 days in jail for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and driving on a revoked driverâs license Monday. Andrew W. Whitley was also sentenced to 12 months of probation by the Dodge County District Court. On Aug. 19, 2020, a Dodge County Sheriffâs Office deputy observed Whitley inside his vehicle, which had plates that had expired three months prior. After pulling the vehicle around, the deputy watched as Whitleyâs car rapidly accelerated into an alleyway without signaling its turn. He continued to drive âwith total disregard for the safety of people, property and vehicles within the downtown area,â according to the report. ....
