同一天，美国国务院发布了更新版新疆供应链商业咨询，以回应中共在新疆地区的种族灭绝行为。这份咨询警告说，企业和个人如果不退出与新疆侵权行为有关的供应链或投资，将会触犯美国法律。
也是在13日，英国《金融时报》（Financial Times）引述消息人士的话报导，美国总统拜登计划在本周内，就北京镇压香港民主运动，以及对新疆维吾尔人实施种族灭绝，宣布更多制裁措施。
12日，美国国务卿布林肯还发布了一份关于防止种族灭绝和暴行的年度报告，点名批评6个国家，其中就有中国（中共）。
布林肯说，“我们将利用一切可利用的手段，包括外交手段、对外援助、事实调查图、财政手段和接触，以及像这样的报告（来阻止暴行）。这份报告提高了人们的认识，并使我们能够带来协调一致的国际压力和反应。”
