We start in afghanistan, where fierce fighting has been raging in several provincial capitals. The afghan army is fighting back in crowded neighbourhoods, and all this putting more and more civilians in danger. Herat in the west of the country is one of two provincial capitals being targetted by the militants there s been similar being targetted by the militants. There s been similar intense fighting in laskar gar in the south, with large parts of that city under the taliban s control. Local people say dead bodies are lying in the streets. We have exclusive pictures from herat inside one of the cities being besieged by the taliban. This footage is from the photo journalist masood husseini, one of the few journalists still inside herat. These pictures were filmed in the last 48 hours. He and other media who are there have been told to evacuate as soon as they can. the ntsb is investigating as we learn more about what happened inside the plane. christina coleman live in los angeles with the latest on both incidents. reporter: jon, apparently eight hours before that emergency landing in denver, another plane, a boeing 747 headed to new york from the netherlands, had an engine fire. the cargo plane took off and just like the plane out of denver, this aircraft also had engine trouble shortly after takeoff. the dutch regional safety inspector says debris injured a boy and a woman and damaged several homes and cars. the plane made a safe emergency landing in belgium. the cause of the e engine trouble is under investigation just as it is in ten very after a boeing 777 plane made an emergency landing there yesterday afternoon. one of the jet s enginesound flf from denver causing the outer casing to disintegrate. it s unclear what caused the right engine to malfunction. fortunately, the crew was able to land this plane safely. take a listen t
