Over 50 Dogs Have Been Rescued from a Property in Marengo
Last week during our Furry Friday segment, our friends over at Safe Haven of Iowa County informed us of a large animal rescue that they had been assisting with for the past few weeks. According to their latest Facebook update: Safe Haven has been closely involved in the rescue of 57 dogs from a local Marengo property for the past month. These dogs had been living in extremely unsanitary, crowded conditions and exposed to the elements for years, before the owner contacted us for help.
The
Animal Rescue League of Iowa was able to save 25 pups during the blizzard on February 4th, and Safe Haven worked to collect the other 32 over the course of the past several weeks. Those two organizations couldn t take in all those dogs themselves, though.
