a fan who s going to watch the game like the rest of us. thanks for joining me today. smerconish is up next. legal exoneration, political nightmare. i m michael smerconish, legal nightmare. the report of the investigation into president biden s handling of classified documents. the word exoneration, an overstatement, i think, how bad was it, the president who turned down a pre-super bowl interview with a guaranteed audience of millions in an election year sudly felt obliged to speak to the nation in prime time from a diplomatic reception room at the white house. when he did, he seemed to be in denial about the substance and the political implications. the majority of americans including a majority of democrats have major or moderate concerns about biden s fitness nor a second term. when cnn raised that with the president he said that was only her incorrect perception. when you were asked about your age, you would respond with the words, watch me. many american people have
but didn t they open up, if you get a psych eval and the doc thinks you re crazy he can turn you over to the feds? i don t know if that s internet lore or that s part and parcel of this. but my understanding and i ve read it he s trying to identify who is a hobbyist at gun sales and to make people subject to background checks. it seems pretty modest, frankly. why is that a problem? people get driver s license and i don t think that s an issue. in 2016, i don t think that s a problem. marcus, they may yank you off that nra ad if they hear you say that. to have people with psychological problems have a background check before they can buy a weapon? i don t think the nra would pull me off. if they do, then i need to be pulled off. you got to you can t give a weapon to somebody who has mental issues. peter berg when lone
let me finish tonight with this. i just finished reading david mareinous s new book, barack obama, the story. when i recently interviewed him, he told me he spent four years researching and writing the book, during which time he logged 50,000 miles, conducted close to 400 interviews, and researched libraries on four different coninants. it ends with his acceptance to the harvard law school, meaning there s a lot more to the story. while he told me his goal was not to vet the president s own memraur, many will be focused on the dwincifference between the y and revelations from my father. time and again, where mere contentions have become the stuff of internet lore, mariness uncovers never before revealed information, including about the president s birth.
the book during which his logged 50,000 miles, conducted 400 interviews. the result is the 600 page biography and it ends with his acceptance to the harvard law school meaning there s more to the story. while he told me his goal was not to vet the president s own memoir, many readers will be focused on the story and dreams from my father. the bigger story is what maraniss revelations say about what others missed or did not seek to find. time and again where mere contentions have become the stuff of internet lore, maraniss uncovers never before revealed information. including about the president s birth. not long after president obama s mother delivered the future president, maraniss says a gynecologist dined with a friend who asked well, dr. west tell me something interesting that happened to you this week.
on, it s obvious what president was talking about. look at what happened with the new stark treaty. this was a process started by ronald reagan and every other treaty had tremendous support, but the republicans tried to block it in a lame duck session that obama was able to out maneuver them, and so what he sate social security obvious. we can t do arms control negotiations on this fence or anything else until after the election because it s so politicized and it has been because it s been by the republicans in the senate. michael, let me ask you, this furthers the use of that open mic moment that internet lore that president obama is going to do something evil. it s true, it is, it s going to happen in the second term, just wait. i think honestly, this is a very good line for mitt romney. i thought he handled that very well.
