Moscow court puts first suspect in concert hall attack under pre-trial custody for two months

Moscow's Basmanny district court ruled on Sunday that the first suspect in Friday's deadly concert hall attack in which at 137 people were killed should be put into custody for two months pending trial, Interfax news agency reported citing the court. Russian authorities have said 11 people have been detained, including four gunmen who fled the concert hall and made their way to the Bryansk region, about 340 km (210 miles) southwest of Moscow.

Armenia's prime minister says his country needs a new constitution -Ifax

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Friday that his country needed a new constitution to entrench its "democratic aspirations", Russia's Interfax news agency reported. It quoted Pashinyan as telling a meeting at the country's justice ministry: "We must have a Constitution that will make the Republic of Armenia more competitive and more viable in the new geopolitical and regional conditions". Pashinyan, a longtime liberal opposition leader who swept to power on the back of a 2018 revolution which ousted the former ruling elite, was cited as saying it was vital to do everything possible to shore up Armenia's legitimacy.

Russia: Diplomatic ties with US could break down over asset seizures

Russia may cut diplomatic ties with the United States if Washington confiscates Russian assets frozen over the Ukrainian war, the Interfax news agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov as saying on Friday. The United States "must not act under an illusion. that Russia is clinging with both hands to diplomatic relations with that country," Ryabkov said.
