Shares of General Insurance Corporation of India jumped 13.9% to a fresh 52-week high of Rs 466 while those of New India Assurance Company rallied 14.3% to a new high of Rs 311.85 on BSE.
Shares of LIC reached a new lifetime high of ₹1,048 apiece, maintaining upward momentum for the fourth consecutive trading session. The company s market capitalisation reached ₹6.61 lakh crore, making it the sixth-largest listed company in India.
LIC s stock climbed 1.9% on Tuesday, to close at its highest level since its IPO in May 2022. The climb over the past 10 months has coincided with a broader surge in Indian equities thats added some $30 billion to LICs market value.
