Satendra Siwal, a Moscow-based Indian embassy staffer, was arrested by UP s Anti-Terror Squad for spying for Pakistan s ISI. Siwal confessed to his involvement in "anti-India activities" after being lured by a honey trap on Facebook. The use of social media, especially Facebook, as a hunting ground for ISI honey traps targeting Indian officials has become a common modus operandi. The honey trappers meticulously select targets based on their educational background and vulnerabilities. Another case involved an IAF officer who fell for a honey trap on Facebook, leaking sensitive information. The honey pots of the ISI target vulnerable individuals, both men and women, who are single, lonely, or disgruntled.
