The home ministry revoked the FCRA licence of ISI, a prominent think tank, for violating rules. ISI analysed the National Education Policy 2020 in its approved social science journal, Social Action, discussing Manipur ethnic violence and political aspirations in Kashmir and Nagaland. Several other think tanks and NGOs have also faced similar actions.
The two-day workshop was held on January 27 and 28 at Bengaluru’s Indian Social Institute, where experts discussed the state of independent media in the country.
