Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum explores Illinois music

Most music fans would identify Chicago with blues music and acts like Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and Howlin Wolf.
Dan Fogelberg was intertwined with Peoria, where his father, the inspiration for the hit song Leader of the Band, taught music.
The Land of Lincoln connections are well-chronicled with Alison Krauss, Chance the Rapper, Styx, Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon voted in 2018 the top musicians in Illinois history by participants in the Illinois Top 200 project, a part of the state’s bicentennial celebration.
The exhibit is designed to give visitors a chaotic backstage feel with freight elevators and roll up doors interspersed throughout. There are audio plug-ins so visitors can hear music from their favorite artists. ....
