The award ceremony of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (Shams) has witnessed the honouring of ten winners across various categories.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the Shams award celebrated its eleventh edition (2019-2020) and 21st year, with a grand function at Burj Khalifa.

The ceremony was held virtually and Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Shams, emphasised the significance of choosing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, as the topic for the eleventh term of the Grand Hamdan Awards.
