City activists in Ludhiana have once again approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) seeking a regulatory mechanism to address the issue of illegal felling of trees. The activists are urging the chief secretary of Punjab to issue a policy to penalize offenders and impose fines. They are also calling for the enumeration of trees under the jurisdiction of various development authorities.
