Spirit Electronics Awarded HUBZone Certification from Small Business Administration Spirit Electronics, a Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned Small Business (VOWOSB, SDB) that provides electronic component distribution and value-added services to the Aerospace and Defense industry is pleased to announce its certification as a HUBZone business by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). Spirit Electronics is now eligible for HUBZone opportunities and is included on the list of certified HUBZone small business concerns. As a HUBZone-certified business, Spirit Electronics and its customers are able to further support economic growth and opportunity in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones). To achieve HUBZone Certification, Spirit had to meet criteria that included its principal office being located in a Federally-mapped HUBZone area and 35% or more of its employees residing within HUBZone regions.

Shuttered venue operators grant Webinar Jan 14

Tue, 01/12/2021 - 4:44pm tim Small Business Administration Join this webinar at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 for a preliminary overview of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program included in the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act signed into law by President Trump on December 27, 2020. Eligible organizations with a reduction in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic will have the opportunity to receive up to a $10 million grant under the program. In total, the Economic Aid Act allocates $15 billion for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grants. This webinar will provide introductory information about the grants, who can apply, how potential organizations can prepare, and other detail re: eligibility and applications.

SBA reopens PPP on January 11

Fri, 01/08/2021 - 2:00pm tim Vermont Business Magazine The US Small Business Administration, in consultation with the Treasury Department, announced today that the Paycheck Protection Program will re-open the week of January 11 for new borrowers and certain existing PPP borrowers. To promote access to capital, initially only community financial institutions will be able to make First Draw PPP Loans on Monday, January 11, and Second Draw PPP Loans on Wednesday, January 13.  The PPP will open to all participating lenders shortly thereafter. Updated PPP guidance outlining Program changes to enhance its effectiveness and accessibility was released on January 6 in accordance with the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Venues Act.
